Photographer Al Weber to Give Free Lecture on Ansel Adams

Photographer Al Weber, colleague and friend of Ansel Adams, will give a free lecture about his relationship with Adams and the current exhibit, Ansel Adams: The Man Who Captured the Earths Beauty, at the Las Cruces Museum of Art on Saturday, July 14 at 11 a.m. Seating will be provided. The Adams exhibit will run through Saturday, Aug 4.

Weber, whose photography is included in the Museums companion exhibit, American Photography; West Coast Visions, worked with Adams instructing photographic workshops at Yosemite National Park and in Carmel, CA with the Friends of Photography. Nationally recognized as a landscape photographer and art educator, he currently teaches workshops at the Photographers Formulary in Montana. He comes to Las Cruces following the opening of an exhibition of his work in Reno, NV. Weber has also loaned several photographs from his personal collection, including his own works and photographs by Morley Baer, Pirkle Jones, Geraldine Sharpe and Hal Halberstadt for the exhibition.

The Las Cruces Museum of Art is located at 501. N. Main St. in the downtown mall. Museum hours are 10 am 4 pm Monday through Friday and 9am 1 pm. Saturday. Exhibits are accessible and free of charge.
